To dream, to love and to do good for 150 years
In February 2026 the issue "10 business minds defining a new era of leadership in 2026" of the international magazine CIO Views LLC, officially registered in the USA, was released. The issue is dedicated to the scientific supervisor (director) of RNIIS Vladimir Lopatin and his credo: to dream, to love and to do good for 150 years.
Strategic session of the Government of the Russian Federation "On the development of the intellectual property sphere until 2036"
On January 27, 2026, a strategic session "On the development of the intellectual property sphere until 2036" was held at the Government of the Russian Federation under the leadership of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin. At the opening of the session, the Head of the Russian Government drew attention to the support measures for inventors:
- convenient conditions for registering intellectual property: applications can be submitted electronically (more than 80 percent in 2022), and the average processing time has been reduced to four months;
- small and medium-sized businesses can use the intellectual property collateral loan mechanism, and it is important to expand its use so that patents and trademarks become real economic assets that can not only generate income but also attract financing;
- Tax deductions are available for companies engaged in R&D, allowing them to deduct double the cost of equipment, materials, and employee training. In some regions, the "patent box" regime has been implemented, which reduces or eliminates the regional income tax on intellectual property.
IX Congress of AYUR
On December 3, 2025, the IX Congress of the All-Russian Public Organization "Association of Lawyers of Russia" (AYUR) was held in the Column Hall of the House of Unions (Moscow), the participants of which were welcomed by President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation M.V. Mishustin, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation V.D. Zorkin, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation I.V. Krasnov.
X BRICS Legal Forum
On October 24-25, 2025, the 10th anniversary BRICS Legal Forum was held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) with the main theme "Strengthening cooperation between the countries of the Global South in order to ensure more inclusive and sustainable governance." The Forum was attended by about 200 leading lawyers of national associations of lawyers, representatives of government agencies, universities and businesses of the participating countries, as well as the BRICS strategic partner countries. The most representative delegation at the Forum was the delegation of the Association of Lawyers of Russia (28 people), which took an active part in discussing all the issues on the agenda.
RNIIS in the United Nations (2025)
On July 11, 2025, was held at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) (Geneva, Switzerland) as part of the 66th session of the General Assembly of WIPO (July 8-17, 2025, more than 1,600 participants from 194 WIPO Member States, almost 100 heads of IP departments) the annual traditional consultative meeting Director General Mr. Daren Tan in the WIPO Partnership Dialogue with the heads and experts of 68 accredited non-governmental organizations from around the world on intellectual property issues for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
IEF CIS-2025
On March 28, 2025, the CIS International Economic Forum «New Impulses for the Development of the Greater Eurasian Partnership. Scientific, technological and innovative cooperation» was held in Moscow at the Congress Center of the World Trade Center.
EAPO and RNIIIS
Within the framework of the IX Legal Forum of the BRICS countries, held in Moscow on the basis of MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, on September 19, 2024, a ceremony was held to sign an Agreement on scientific and Innovative Cooperation between the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), an international intergovernmental organization established in 1994 by the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC), and the autonomous non–profit organization "Republican Scientific-Research Institute of Intellectual Property" (RNIIIS), the only scientific specialized the Organization for Intellectual Property Issues in the EAEU and CIS countries, established in 2005 the Accounting Chamber of Russia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation with the participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Tajikistan in MTK 550
As part of the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Patent Office of the Republic of Tajikistan and the RNIIIS (signed in Geneva on 07/11/2024) and the Plan (Roadmap) for 2024-2025 for the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030, based on the application of the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification and Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic Tajikistan, supported by the decision of the ITC 550 (Protocol No. 13 dated 08/22/2024), the Republic of Tajikistan was admitted to the ITC 550 as a full member of the interstate Technical Committee for Standardization "Intellectual Property".
The country's plenipotentiary representative in the MTK - 550 is Ismoilzoda Mirzo Haidarbek, Director of the state institution "National Patent Information Center" of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
